Tips To Prevent Holiday Stress And Avoid Faking The Holiday Spirit
The holidays are here and, for many of us, so is holiday stress. Reduced budgets can mean stressing more this year over how much to spend on gifts and what to get. Planning parties or family gatherings can feel overwhelming. It can be hard to find the holiday spirit. Here are some tips to prevent stress through the holiday season.
1. The holidays are a good time to renew your heart connection with people. Make that your focus and priority. Spend more time enjoying people and their holiday spirit and that can help rekindle your holiday spirit.
2. If you already have a lot of stress in your life, be careful not to get caught in over-extending yourself. Adding too much to your plate can turn what should be a good time enjoying the holidays into an extra backpack of stress. Then you have to take the first week of the year just to recoup from it all. You can avoid this by slowing down in the midst of all the activities and checking in with yourself about where you're really at. Observe your energies and feelings and learn to find more ease through it all. Here's a simple tool proven to help you find more ease and dissipate stress as you go.

Facebook trying to trick its users?
Last week, giant social network company Facebook rolled out an overhaul of its privacy settings and VentureBeat reporter Kim-Mai Cutler dubbed Facebook “the only place where a user can control how narrowly or broadly they want to share their interests and life.” That’s certainly part of Facebook’s appeal.
Search Engine Land editor Danny Sullivan, however, dubbed the new privacy settings “exhausting” to deal with. By default, Facebook’s new settings allow anyone on the site to see a user’s posts, as well as other personal information such as religious or political views.

Climate talks deadlocked as clashes erupt outside
COPENHAGEN – Police fired pepper spray and beat protesters with batons outside the U.N. climate conference Wednesday, as disputes inside left major issues unresolved just two days before world leaders hope to sign a historic agreement to fight global warming.
Hundreds of protesters were trying to disrupt the 193-nation conference, the latest action in days of demonstrations to demand "climate justice" — firm steps to combat global warming. Police said 230 protesters were detained.
Inside the cavernous convention hall, Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, among the first leaders to address the assembly, echoed the protesters' sentiments: "If the climate was a bank, a capitalist bank, they would have saved it."

In France, horse falling off restaurant menus
PARIS (Reuters) – Many people love horses and traditionally, many French people have loved them even more with a side of salad.
That passion, however, has slowed to a trickle in the last couple of years as crisis-hit French consumers buy less meat and years of campaigning by animal rights groups take effect.
Looking to ram home their advantage, campaigners have launched a pre-Christmas blitz in Paris featuring posters of riding school ponies and graceful yearlings aimed at rending the hardest of hearts.
